While dominating the music charts with #1 spot on Japanese music charts with ‘Take Off,’ 2PM also managed to dominate ticket booth sales as they quickly sold out all the seats for their Japanese concert tour. Well, the tour is over now and it has reportedly been a huge success.
2PM’s first Japanese concert tour–entitled ‘2PM 1st Japan Tour 2011 ‘Take Off”–kicked off in Sapporo on May 6th and ended earlier today on the 13th in Tokyo. Tour stops also included Fukuoka (8th), Osaka (9th) and Nagoya (10th). 2PM also added another concert in Tokyo on the 12th to please fans who couldn’t get a hold of a ticket when they were first released.
Each of their concerts opened up with a countdown starting at 1:59PM. As 2:00PM hit the countdown clock, 2PM made their entrance onto the stage and opened up with ‘Don’t Stop Can’t Stop’ and‘Without U.’ In addition, the beastly idols held a conversation session with their fans and each member showed off his own charm with a solo stage. They also screened their music video for their Japanese debut single ‘Take Off’ – which will be released on the 18th – at the concert.
In total, they performed 22 song over the span of two hours.
In response to the success of their tour, 2PM stated, “Before the tour started, we were nervous and had our worries. However, the love that our fans showed us at the concert became our strength; it was really touching. We deeply thank our Japanese fans for loving both our music and us. In addition, we want to thank the staff members for working so hard. We will work even harder in the future.”
2PM will return to Korea on the 21st after wrapping up their album promotions in Japan.
