At least 40 school children have died after their bus crashed into a canal in southern Bangladesh, police said.
A senior police officer in Chittagong district, Ruhul Amin Siddiqui, told the BBC that 40 bodies had been recovered from the accident site.
Officials said rescue work was under way. They said the toll was likely to rise as more bodies were feared trapped inside the sunken vehicle.
The students were returning from a school soccer tournament, reports said.
