Musona has joined Hoffenheim after impressing with Kaizer Chiefs
Zimbabwe striker Knowledge Musona has completed his move from Kaizer Chiefs to German side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
He has signed a five-year deal and joins for an undisclosed
fee, with Chiefs announcing the news at a press conference in
Johannesburg on Thursday. The club also confirmed the signing of Bafana Bafana striker Bernard Parker from the 2010 Dutch champions FC Twente on a two-year deal.
"Musona is going as soon as he gets his visa," said team manager Bobby Motaung.
"It is not a loan. It is a fully signed contract of five years.
"We will miss him at Kaizer Chiefs. We want to wish him all the best and we give him all our blessings."
The 21-year-old - who finished top scorer in the South African
Premier Soccer League last season with 15 goals - has been discussing
the terms of his transfer for nearly three weeks.
That was after Hoffenheim had an offer accepted in early July. Despite interest from Celtic, the German side that gave Senegal's Demba Ba his big break in Europe won the race for his signature.
"I would like to thank everyone at Kaizer Chiefs for everything they have helped me with since the begining of my pro career," said the Zimbabwe international.
"I hope one day I will be back - I will never forget my time at Chiefs."
Meanwhile, Parker's surprise return to South Africa after a three-year spell in Europe was welcomed by Motaung.
"I spoke to him last night and he is very excited to be coming home," said Motaung.
"It is confirmed and it is not speculation - it was on the wish-list that the coach gave us."
