Lee Hyun survived off ramen for a week during his pre-debut days Published On Sunday, May 29, 2011

8eight’s Lee Hyun recently shared a painful episode from his past.
While guesting on Mnet’s “Director’s Cut“, Lee Hyun confessed that he went through a lot of hardships in order to pursue his dreams. He said, “In order to realize my dreams of becoming a singer, I came to Seoul with the prize money I gathered up from various music competitions around the country. However, since I had to get a place to stay and pay for academy attendance without my parents’ help, there wasn’t a lot of money left over for other necessities.”
Times got particularly hard for Lee Hyun, as he had to live off instant noodles for a time. “Once, there was a period where I spent a week with just four packs of ramen because I ran into some difficult times. Now when I look back, I sometimes wonder how I managed to pull through those days.
Looks like his determination paid off, as Lee Hyun is now one of the most respected vocalists in K-pop today. He recently made his comeback last month with “Although You Said So“, which was composed by popular producer Bang Shi Hyuk.
